Patrice Majondo- Mwamba's Recent Trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo

Patrice Majondo-Mwamba made a recent trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo. He met with local government officials including Moise Katumbi, the governor of the Katanga Province in Congo. Mwamba discussed the construction of the Mwamba Sports and Education Academy (MSEA). He also met with the local school faculty and witnessed the unimaginable condition of the educational system in Lubumbashi, Congo. The local school children deserve so much better than what they have. Each child deserves an opportunity to have a decent education.

The goal and intent of the Mwamba Family Foundation is to fight for the Congolese youth so that they may gain knowledge, and by creating awareness we will obtain success. “Fight For Five!”

Patrice presented the objectives of the Foundation in a nationally televised interview with journalist Mrs. Mamina on TV Tropicana of the DRC.

Patrice also met with Puati Ngomathe Minister of Health and Social Affairs for the Province of Kinshasa and Mrs. Thérèsa Olenga Kalonda the Minister of Education for the Province of Kinshasa. They discussed ways that the Mwamba Family Foundation can help with the immense need for vaccines, medical supplies, health clinics and hospitals. Discussions were also held regarding the need for solid infrastructure for local schools and the need for schooling materials. This is the main focus of the Mwamba Family Foundation, education and health.

Patrice and Hervé also met with member of FEC (Federation of Congolese Enterprises) and were in the company of Mr. Albert Yumi the CEO of FEC, Mr. Michel B. Losembe GM of Citigroup, and Mr. Henri Yav Mulang DA of FEC. FEC informed them that the DRC is moving towards the same situation as the starvation that has occured in Ethiopia. Since 1986 need for food has been on the rise. Keep in mind that the DRC has the capability to nourish more than 3 billion people but does not have the financing to create agriculture and commerce. There is an urgent need for foreign investment in agriculture and energy. Only 6% of Congolose have access to electricity. Members of FEC stated that the State of Congo has many hydroelectric projects available for investment. The DRC is facing starvation in 3 to 5 years. Time is of the essence!

Patrice Mwamba recently visited a school house in Lubumbashi, Congo. Pictured is the stark reality of what these young students have as a learning center. Their desks are made from local railroad tracks. They have no books for learning, yet they are eager for knowledge. We must fight to gain knowledge!

Patrice Mwamba visits a construction site in Katanga, Congo where Tatu and Marcel labor in intense heat for 10 hours a day. Their wage: 40 cents a day. Unacceptable! We must obliterate poverty!

Patrice talks with Dieudonne and Mami. Deiudonne is only 6 years old and his sister Mami is 5 years old. They work at a construction site in the Katanga Province of Congo. They labor long hours and live in extreme poverty. They don’t even possess a pair of shoes and walk barefoot for miles each day. NO child should live in this unimaginable horror. We must fight to obliterate poverty!

Congolese children play in the dusty streets. They have no shoes on their feet, are left to their own imaginations to create amusement for themselves. These children are limited to one small meal a day. We must obliterate poverty!

Pictured is a Congolese fishing community in Kinshasa along the banks of the Congo River. Congo has one of the world’s largest soft water reserves, but because of the lack of aqueducts, Regideso (water National company) has an urgent need for overseas investments because the major part of the population must draw their water from the filth infested Congo River. We must negate disease!

Pictured is a typical health clinic in Congo. Health care is virtually nonexistent, and most Congolese that the hospital is where one would go to die. Many of them do die due to the inadequacies of the health system. We must negate disease!
